Job Brief
An existing customer of CV Screen contacted us to assist in recruiting for a Digital Designer for their team. The company are based in Brighton and the role would be within their marketing team of five.
The role required a creative designer who had a breadth of experience of designing for website, email, landing pages and for social. A full knowledge of the Adobe creative suite was required and proven UI/UX design skills would need to be shown.
Recruitment Process
CV Screen posted an advert on the leading job boards and concurrently we searched our own database and the leading CV databases (we use Total Jobs, LinkedIn, Reed and CV Library).
The advert attracted over 50 applicants and we managed to narrow that down by focussing on candidates who were currently working within a marketing team on a permanent basis. This was mainly down to receiving a number of applications from freelancers who were considering permanent opportunities – this was a route that our client had taken before and had been let down.
We managed to present six CVs with links to portfolios and secured four interviews. Jonny’s portfolio impressed immediately, and he even spent a bit of time to mock up a landing page for our client prior to his interview. This approach was well received and he secured the role after that first interview.
About Jonny
Jonny had been with his current employer for three years and felt that he needed a fresh challenge. The role that we represented him to offered Jonny a wide variety of work and a commitment to flexible working.
These were two things that he’d stated when we initially spoke to him, and he immediately clicked with the Head of Marketing at interview.
He has settled well and is loving his new role.
