Job Brief
CV Screen were approached to source an eCommerce Manager to manage a team of two. The role required a candidate to develop and deliver the eCommerce strategy and help to deliver the commercial targets from their website.
The company used Shopify and any experience of using this eCommerce platform was highly desirable.
Recruitment Process
Our initial database search focussed on candidates with Shopify experience who had a job title which included any of the following keywords – eCommerce, e-Commerce or Website. This search was conducted within a 20 mile of Leeds as the role required the candidate to be office based for three days a week.
We were able to identify fifteen candidates who looked suitable, but after sending emails and InMail’s on LinkedIn, only six were interested in reviewing the job description. Subsequently, CV Screen interviewed five of those candidates who were forwarded to the role.
We were up against one other recruiter and the client requested four interviews in total (three of whom were from CV Screen).
Ben’s varied eCommerce experience and his team leading skills made him a strong candidate and he was offered the role after pipping another CV Screen candidate at the final stage.
About Ben
Ben had been freelancing for the last 12 months but was looking for job security provided by a permanent role. He had experience of several eCommerce platforms including Magento and Shopify but preferred working with Shopify.
He had previously been responsible for growing ecommerce sales from £500,000 to £2.5mn and was looking for a similar challenge. The role that CV Screen presented also had a bonus scheme which would reward Ben handsomely if he replicated this success.
At the 2nd interview stage Ben presented a clear strategy as to how he would look to increase sales and improve the customer journey – this secured the role for him.
